Mel & Phil – Holme Pierrepont Wedding

Mel and Phil were married Friday at Holme Pierrepont Hall, Nottingham and we were there to photograph their day for them. After visiting Mel at home getting ready with her three Bridesmaids Amber, Elizabeth and Isabelle, it was off to the Hall. We arrived to Blue skies but very cold … ! Phil was greeting guests along with his two best men George and Henry. After a lovely ceremony we managed to grab some time outside to get the group shot and a number of formals. Timing was fantastic, just when we started a session with Mel and Phil we got that magic 20 mins again .. ! Just as the low winter sun starts to hit the horizon, gorgeous light. I know we worked you fairly hard guys, but when you see your photos bet you think it was worth it .. ! Enjoy your honeymoon ..

For the photographers who follow our blog, all images were shot with the Canon 5DmkII, and either a 70 – 200 F2.8 or 17 – 40 F4 lens. All shot using available light, some with video light for fill. ISO was hardly dropped below 1600 for the entire wedding, no flash.

Catherine & Andy – Sutton Bonington Hall

Our first wedding of this year was Catherine & Andy’s, with the ceremony taking place at Sutton Bonington Hall in Leicestershire. After photographing Catherine and the girls getting ready, and some shots of the lads, we then photographed an emotional ceremony which was a pleasure to be part of. Now winter is one of our favourite times of year to photograph a wedding, if we are lucky enough (and we usually are!), although cold you can get what I like to term as ‘magic hour’, absolutely gorgeous lighting from the low winter sun, and we got it .. ! A few early images from the wedding ….

We took these photographs of Lilly while she was watching Mum Catherine getting prepared for her wedding to Andy at Sutton Bonington Hall. When we shoot a wedding, one of the things we don’t do is turn up and ‘machine gun’ the wedding and hand over 1000 images. We record what we like to term as ‘moment’ images, through years of experience, learning to anticipate, and having a good eye. Our aim is supply images full of meaning and emotion. The images below of Lilly, what was she thinking, can you read her thoughts? When Lilly is older and a Mum herself, is she just going to love showing these images to her own children, I would think so, wouldn’t you ……

Pride Park Wedding Fayre

A big thank you to all the couples that came over for a chat and to view the GraphiStudio and Jorgensen wedding albums at yesterdays wedding fayre. A lot busier than we thought it was going to be, so if we didn’t get chance to talk to you personally and you would like more information please feel free to contact us either by phone or Email. Normally I am suited and booted for these occasions, but yesterday I thought ‘let’s go and have some fun’ .. ! So casual jacket, jeans and a cowboy hat off I went (no I don’t wear it when working on a wedding) .. ! I hope it showed potential clients what we are really like, fun, easy going and love to have a laugh with people, think it went down quite well actually .. ! Not sure what the other photographers there thought? Probably ‘that Dave guy is nuts’, but then our display was packed all day … Hmmmmmm

Now, one of the exhibitors yesterday that I loved, and must admit the first time I have ever seen something so different was a young Lady called Alexandra. Playing absolutely gorgeous, haunting, romantic music on an Electric violin. I just had to buy her CD .. ! Now I can thoroughly recommend Alexandra for your wedding if you are looking for that something a little different. At the moment Alexandra is in the process of developing her website (She still has a landing page with details), once her site is sorted I hope she is going to be ready for the amount of enquiries she is going to get … ! Breadsall Priory Wedding Fayre

Wow, todays wedding Fayre at Breadsall Priory (one of our favourite venues) was so busy, with over 300 Brides signed in. Many thanks to all the couples who came over to look at our GraphiStudio and Jorgensen demo albums, and to chat about your wedding plans.

A lot still haven’t booked their photographer yet for this year, we had loads of people asking for dates this year but unfortunately we were booked for 90% of them. Once you have found a photographer who produces work that you fall in love with, our advice would be to book early …. !

Michelle & Martin

Woodborough hall was the location for Michelle & Martin’s wedding last weekend. Once again we were lucky with the weather .. ! After Michelle’s getting ready photos, we caught up with the lads enjoying a few pints. After the ceremony we all managed to get outside for some relaxed photos of family and guests, then time spent with Michelle & Martin in the woods .. ! Guys, you were great. Andie & Stew

Last weekend saw us photographing the wedding of Andie & Stew held at The Ashes, Endon in Staffordshire. I promised them a dry day and that’s exactly what we got .. ! Andie looked absolutely stunning and was so relaxed, Stew tried controlling his nerves by playing on his DS .. ! After Bridal prep shots and a lovely ceremony we all spent an hour outside, including all the guests which was fantastic, allowing myself and Emma to get loads of great photojournalism shots. After girls and lads shots we managed to get some quality romance time with Andie and Stew. Thanks guys for being so relaxed on the day and for wanting us to be part of your day. Heather & Kean – Sandhole Oak Barn

Our first wedding after returning from honeymoon was Heather and Kean, with the ceremony and reception held at Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire. A great day and yet another where our luck with the weather held out .. ! Although cold it stayed dry. After the initial nerves Heather and Kean relaxed and just enjoyed their day, the excellent evening entertainment was provided by Luca (vocal show). Hope you’re having a great honeymoon guys. Honeymoon Nearly Over …

Well, with just a couple of days left, our honeymoon in Jamaica is coming to an end. We have had such a fantastic time, with average temperatures of 34C during the day relaxing in the sun has been the order of the day, recharging the batteries for our 8 winter weddings and ready for next year. Everything about Jamaica is stunning and the people are so welcoming, when we get back we will post up some pics, Emma has been really busy with her Canon G10 .. !
